TextWarden is operated by Next Pulse B.V., Arthurweg 61, 3071 MH Rotterdam, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 88348784 (“we”, “us”). In these terms we refer to the service, including the website, the dashboard, the Shopify app and the API, as TextWarden.
These terms apply to every use of TextWarden, including the free plan and the anonymous single-page scan on our website. By creating an account, installing the Shopify app or using TextWarden, you agree to them. If you use TextWarden on behalf of a company or another organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it, and “you” refers to that organisation.
TextWarden is designed for businesses and professionals. Consumers are welcome to use it as well; where you use TextWarden as a consumer, the additional rules in section 8 apply and nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these terms.
TextWarden crawls the pages of a website you register, or reads the products and pages of a Shopify store you connect, extracts the visible text and reports spelling, grammar, style and consistency findings, each with a suggested correction where available. Depending on your plan, it also runs AI-based review passes, monitors brand voice, re-scans your site on a schedule and sends notifications to the channels you configure.
The exact features, limits and prices of each plan are described on our pricing page at the time you subscribe. We may improve, change or retire features over time. Where a change materially reduces what your paid plan offers, we will tell you in advance.
You need an account to use TextWarden beyond the anonymous scan. You must provide accurate information, keep your sign-in method secure and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. Everything done through your account, including by team members you invite, is your responsibility.
Account owners can invite members to their account. You are responsible for who you invite and for removing people who should no longer have access.
You may only register websites and connect stores that you own or that you are authorised to have scanned. By registering a site you confirm that you have that authorisation. TextWarden respects robots.txt and applies rate limits, but you remain responsible for the sites you point it at.
You must not:
We may suspend or restrict access where we reasonably believe these rules are being breached (see section 13).
TextWarden uses automated checkers and AI models. These are useful but not perfect: they can miss errors, flag correct text and suggest changes that are wrong for your context, your audience or your house style. We give no guarantee that findings are accurate or complete, or that suggestions are correct.
You are responsible for reviewing every finding and suggestion before acting on it. This applies in particular to one-click fixes in the Shopify app, which write the chosen correction to your live store content on your instruction. Any decision to change your content, and the result of that change, is yours.
TextWarden is not a legal, compliance or professional editing service and does not check whether your content is lawful or complete.
Free plan. The free plan is available without payment within the limits shown on the pricing page. We may change those limits or withdraw the free plan with reasonable notice.
Paid subscriptions. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, through our payment provider Mollie. A subscription renews automatically for the same period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and you keep the paid plan until then.
Changing plans. You can switch plans or billing period at any time. On an upgrade we charge the difference for the rest of the current period; on a downgrade the remaining value is applied as credit towards future periods. We do not pay out proration in cash.
Credits. AI review runs on credits. Each plan includes a monthly allowance that does not carry over. Additional credit packs can be bought on paid plans; they are charged to your existing payment mandate, do not expire while your account exists, and are used only after the monthly allowance is spent.
Prices and taxes. Prices are in euros and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. We may change prices; a change applies to you from your next renewal and we will announce it at least 30 days beforehand. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails or a payment is charged back, we may move your account to the free plan and pause the sites that exceed its limits. We do not delete your data because of a payment problem; paused sites resume when your plan allows it again.
Shopify. If you use TextWarden through the Shopify app, subscription fees and usage charges are billed by Shopify under its own terms, and any manual scan that carries a charge is shown to you and requires your confirmation before it runs.
If TextWarden does not meet your expectations, email us within 14 days of your first payment for a subscription and we will refund that payment. Later renewals, plan changes and credit packs are not refunded, except where the law requires it. Refunds are made through the original payment method.
If you use TextWarden as a consumer, that is, not for a trade, business, craft or profession, the following also applies.
Right of withdrawal. You may withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of concluding it without giving a reason, by emailing us. Because a subscription gives you access to the service straight away, you ask us to start performing it during the withdrawal period when you subscribe. If you withdraw, we refund the payment less a proportional amount for the days you had access. The refund policy in section 7 is more generous and applies in addition.
Mandatory law. Where these terms limit our liability or your rights in a way that mandatory consumer law does not allow, the law takes precedence and the rest of these terms remains in force.
We provide TextWarden on a best-effort basis. We aim for high availability and work to resolve problems quickly, but we do not promise that the service is uninterrupted or error-free, and there is no guaranteed uptime, response time or crawl schedule unless we have agreed one with you in writing. We may take TextWarden offline for maintenance, preferably announced in advance and outside Dutch office hours.
Support is provided by email at info@textwarden.com on Dutch working days. Higher availability and support guarantees, such as a service level agreement, are available for larger customers; contact us to discuss them.
You keep all rights to your website content and the content in your Shopify store. You grant us a licence to fetch, store, analyse and display that content to the extent needed to provide TextWarden to you and to keep it secure.
Personal data in scanned content. Where the pages we scan on your instruction contain personal data, you decide what is scanned and why, and we process that data as your processor under the General Data Protection Regulation. In that role we:
You confirm that you have a lawful basis for having the content scanned. Where you need a separate data processing agreement, contact us.
Service improvement. We may use stored findings and text fragments, detached from your account, domain and URL, to troubleshoot, evaluate and improve TextWarden, as set out in our privacy policy. External language-processing providers may not use your content to train their own models.
Free plan. For sites on the free plan we may additionally use findings and text fragments, in anonymised form, as examples on our website and in our documentation and communications, and in aggregated statistics. Anonymised means that the domain, URL, account and any names, contact details or other personal data are removed and that fragments are kept short. This does not apply to sites on a paid plan, whose findings are used only to provide and improve the service.
TextWarden, including its software, models, rule sets, designs and documentation, belongs to us or our licensors. These terms do not transfer any rights in it to you, other than the right to use TextWarden in accordance with them. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability towards you for all claims arising out of or in connection with TextWarden is limited to the fees you paid us for TextWarden in the three months preceding the event that gave rise to the claim, or €100 if that amount is higher. On the free plan our liability is therefore limited to €100.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost revenue, lost data, reputational damage, business interruption or the cost of substitute services. In particular, we are not liable for the consequences of acting on a finding or suggestion, of a change made to your content through TextWarden, of a missed error, or of a scan not running or not completing.
These limitations do not apply to damage caused by our intent or deliberate recklessness, or where mandatory law does not permit them. Any claim must be notified to us within 12 months of the event.
You can close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing us. Closing your account immediately deletes your account, including all sites, scans, findings and settings, and immediately cancels any running subscription so that nothing more is charged; the remaining part of an already-paid period is not refunded.
We may suspend or end your access, with notice where reasonably possible, if you breach these terms, if your use creates a security or legal risk for us or others, if payment is overdue, or if we discontinue TextWarden. If we discontinue a paid plan, we refund the unused part of the period.
After termination we delete your account data in line with the retention periods in our privacy policy. Findings and text fragments are retained for no longer than 90 days in any case. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as sections 10 to 12, remain in force.
We may change these terms when TextWarden, the law or our business changes. For material changes we give at least 30 days’ notice by email or in the dashboard. If you do not accept a change, you can end your subscription before it takes effect; continued use after that date means you accept the new terms. The current version is always published on this page with its effective date.
Dutch law applies to these terms. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in Rotterdam, unless mandatory law designates another court. If you are a consumer, you may choose the court that is competent under the law within one month after we invoke this clause. We prefer to resolve problems directly: contact us first at info@textwarden.com.
